Berz Gallery of African Art welcomes you to our online gallery, a platform for you to enjoy and purchase some of the high quality, authentic antique African art in which we specialize and for which we are known. Our condensed history: our interest began with a love of Africa; we began by traveling to Africa for years, bringing containers of any masks, furniture, statues, currency, handicrafts, and textiles--whatever we could get our hands on in repeated trips throughout the continent, including buying trips in East Africa, DR Congo, Mali, Guinea, Burkina Faso, Gambia, Ghana, Senegal and more countries. We also began to engage in social projects in Burkina Faso, sending containers of clothing, shoes, and other goods to people in need, investing in a chicken farm among other investments, and helping in any way we could. In 2014 we relocated to Mexico, and sold exclusively by appointment and at important, vetted tribal art shows like Parcours des mondes (Paris) and BRUNEAF (Brussels). From 2013-2015, we hosted The Los Angeles African Art Show. Since 2015 we have also been hosting bi-annual online auctions, featuring nearly 350 African objects per year, an auction process which we greatly enjoy and our clients have seemed to enjoy as well. Now, at the outset of 2018, we have returned to permanently resettle in the San Francisco Bay Area, and have opened a beautiful new gallery location in San Francisco's wonderful North Beach neighborhood.
We are buyers first--we are always looking to purchase great objects which are antique, preferably with some ownership history (provenance), and we do have material for all levels of collectors. Feel free to let us know if you have any specific areas of interest. If you would like to join our mailing list or have any questions, we can always be reached by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. We hold regular online sales, and guarantee all objects we sell are of the quality the top collectors and art afficianados have grown to expect from us. Many objects are not presented on our website, so let us know what interests you and where the state of your collection lies. Included with all of our objects are dossiers which provide information on each object and include certificates of authenticity as well as from past owners wherever available.
We appreciate your visit, and we look forward to working with you! You can reach us at Facebook, Instagram, or Pinterest under Berz Gallery of African Art.
Thank you all again for your support for all of these years. The best is yet to come....and a special note to California...we missed you and are thrilled to be home.
